Our practice philosophy
At Inneke Wessels Physiotherapy, we believe that physiotherapy is more than treating symptoms — it is about understanding the person behind the pain. Every patient is unique, and so is their journey to recovery. Conveniently located near Louis Leipoldt Hospital in Bellville, our practice offers hands-on, patient-centred physiotherapy care, with selected appointment availability also offered at our Kanonberg practice for patients in the surrounding areas, including Welgedacht, Protea Valley, Oude Westhof and Kenridge.

We are committed to delivering evidence-based, hands-on physiotherapy that is tailored to each individual’s needs, goals, and lifestyle. Through thorough assessment, clear communication, and personalised treatment plans, we aim to address the root cause of injury or dysfunction rather than simply managing discomfort.

Our approach focuses on restoring movement, improving function, and empowering patients with the knowledge and tools they need to take an active role in their recovery. Education, prevention, and long-term wellbeing are central to everything we do.

We value professionalism, integrity, and compassion, and strive to create a supportive, welcoming environment where patients feel heard, respected, and confident in their care. Our goal is not only to help you recover, but to help you move better, live better, and maintain your health for the future.

ABOUT INNEKE
Owner & Therapist
Inneke graduated with a BSc in Physiotherapy from Stellenbosch University in 2013 and has since built her career in private practice, gaining extensive experience in the management of neuromuscular, orthopaedic, and neurological conditions. She has further enhanced her expertise through postgraduate training in dry needling, Kinesio taping, and Pilates-based rehabilitation, ensuring her patients receive the most up-to-date, evidence-based care. As a registered member of the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and the South African Society of Physiotherapy (SASP), she is committed to the highest professional standards.
In 2016, Inneke relocated to Johannesburg, where she successfully established and ran her practice in Parkmore, Sandton for eight years. During this time, she worked with a wide variety of patients and injuries in the outpatient setting, further refining her clinical skills and deepening her understanding of complex musculoskeletal conditions. In 2024, she returned to her hometown of Cape Town to establish her new practice and build her future in the private medical setting.
Her special interests lie in the treatment of low back, neck, and shoulder pain, as well as chronic pain management. Believing that every patient is unique, she develops tailored treatment plans that address both symptoms and underlying causes. By combining hands-on therapy, exercise prescription, and patient education, she empowers individuals to take an active role in their recovery and long-term well-being.
Passionate about health and holistic wellness, Inneke’s mission is to help each patient regain their full range of motion, restore function, and return to the activities they love. Outside of her clinical work, she enjoys hiking, Pilates, functional strength training, and high-intensity interval training, reflecting her belief in living an active, balanced lifestyle.
